If you're looking for a wonderful thing to do on a Saturday afternoon in Boston, you should think about going to tea at the Courtyard Restaurant at the Boston Public Library! For $35 per person, you can have unlimited tea in addition to an assortment of tea sandwiches, petits fours, and scones -- everything from smoked salmon on pumpernickel bread to french macrons. If you're with a group, they'll give you enough so that each person can have one of each item on the menu (about four mini sandwiches, four petits fours, and two scones). The assortment in my picture is the spread they gave us for three people.
It's also lovely inside the restaurant; situated right by the BPL's courtyard, there is great natural lighting, and the decor inside is wonderful. I also just love the purple chairs. They're beautiful and luxurious, and they compliment the goblet-looking purple glasses really well.
