This week I checked out Lumière, a beautiful restaurant in West Newton featuring modern French cuisine.
They recently debuted their lunch service, and I was so happy to check it out — I loved their emphasis on fresh and local ingredients, and the menu is full of delicious vegetables like asparagus, arugula, watercress, beets, and more. I think chef/owner Jordan Bailey does an excellent job at striking a balance between classic french tastes and modern and creative twists — I really enjoyed everything.
We started with the asparagus-leek soup, the beets and prosciutto dish, and a pork and venison terrine.

Marinated Beets and Prosciutto beets with Meyer lemon, prosciutto, and pistachios

with pickles, mustard, parsley salad, and toast
For main courses, we tried two of the sandwiches and the seared arctic char. I loved all of them, and I especially enjoyed the house-made fries that you can pair with the sandwiches.

Of course, we couldn’t leave without dessert, and despite being full from lunch, we cleared our plates — the chocolate torte and the sorbet were absolutely delicious.

I highly recommend checking out Lumière for their new lunch! They serve lunch from Tuesday through Friday from noon to 2:00pm. They are also open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday. Lumière is located at 1293 Washington Street in West Newton.
