This past week visited some friends in San Francisco and tried some incredible food while I was there.
What I loved most about the SF food scene is that it’s full of fresh, local ingredients, and there are healthy options almost everywhere. Of course, sourcing locally is much more feasible in San Francisco than it is in Boston because of the vast farmland nearby. In fact, my friend told me that the nearby Central Valley of California provides a third of the produce for the entire country — how incredible! Several of the restaurants I visited even list where they get their produce to demonstrate how they source locally.
Four veggie-licious spots that I visited were Blue Barn Gourmet, Seed + Salt, Jane, and Glaze.
I also really enjoyed the incredible selection of Japanese and Chinese food in the city. One of my favorite meals of the trip was at Dragon Beaux Restaurant. Dragon Beaux is a sister restaurant of the immensely popular, Koi Palace in Daly City, which I discovered on Instagram before my visit.
Dessert was also a main attraction on our trip. My favorite was Boba Guys, an incredible boba tea spot with locations in SF and New York. We went twice when we were there (I wanted to go everyday). I also loved Loving Cup for frozen yogurt, Swensen's for Ice Cream, and Honey Creme for soft serve.
