I had so much fun this past Thursday evening at the WGBH Chef’s Gala. The event was part of their annual Taste of WGBH Food & Wine Festival, a series of events that showcases food and drink in Boston. The Chef’s Gala is an evening of small bites from some of Boston’s best restaurants, incredible wine and craft beer pairings, and live music. This year, some of my favorite restaurants were represented including Trade, L’Espalier, Puritan & Company, Tiger Mama, Saltie Girl, and many more.
At the beginning of the evening, we were given tasting glasses to try wines and craft beers from several different wineries and breweries including Premium Port Wines, blue current brewery, Barboursville Vineyards, Testa Wines, Opici Wines, and many more.
With our glasses in hand, we visited each of the tables to try out their small bites. One of my favorites of the night was was Deuxave. Chef Chris Coombs prepared a Braised Coq au Vin with Ricotta Cavatelli and Wild Mushrooms.
I was also really excited to see Back Bay Beats (“B3”) at the Chef’s Gala. B3 will be opening in the next few months, and it will feature live music by Berklee College students. I'm really excited about it!
The fried lobster and waffles by Saltie Girl were also a huge hit and one of my favorites of the night.
I also loved the bites from SRV, L’Espalier, Tiger Mama, Doretta, Cuisine en Locale, Garde, Woods Hill Table, and Mida.

Throughout the night, live music was provided by an incredible group, Speechless. Their throwback covers got everybody dancing. To top it off, the evening was hosted by WGBH’s radio stars, Jim Braude and Margery Eagan. If you watched my Instagram story, you probably saw that I was really excited about that — I’m a huge fan of theirs!

Thanks so much to WGBH, the talented chefs and their teams, and all of the sponsors of the event for an awesome evening!
