I was so excited to get a sneak peak of YO! Sushi in the Seaport district this week, which is opening to the public on Wednesday, October 26th at 11am!
The new YO! Sushi location is at 85 Seaport Boulevard, right next to the recently opened Shake Shack. For those of you who are not familiar with the concept, YO! Sushi a great restaurant serving up Japanese dishes like sushi, miso soup, ramen, gyoza, katsu, and more. The head chef, Jon Michael Carozza, takes a lot of inspiration from his travels to Japan.
The food at YO! is prepared at an open, central kitchen, and served on a conveyor belt that reaches around the tables of the restaurant, where customers can pick what they fancy. The prices of the dishes are indicated by the color of the plate, and when you’re done, a server counts your plates to work out your bill. A pretty cool concept!
When I visited, I started off sampling the Chazuke and the Salmon and Yuzu Salsa. Chazuke is a dish of flaked salmon and yellowtail on top of a steamed rice in a umami broth — it’s almost like a fish porridge and it’s completely delicious.

Then, a delicious Miso Chicken Bun and their Ginza Roll, a roll of salmon, cream cheese, and cucumber, topped with caviar, sriracha, and mayo.

Then, Seared Tuna and Caviar Sashimi, Crispy Chicken Wings, and a Japanese style Potato Salad.

I ended with some Nabanzuke, a dish of fried yellowtail and house pickled vegetables on top of steamed rice. The chef said it was inspired by one of his favorite street food dishes in Japan.
Make sure to check it out after the opening on Wednesday!
