I had such a great time last weekend heading back to The Blue Ox in Lynn, a spot that I’ve been raving about since trying it over a year ago. I loved dining there again and trying a little taste of a bunch of their menu items — everything was so delicious!
You might be familiar with the Blue Ox from Boston Magazine's Annual Battle of the Burger competition. The Blue Ox had won three times in a row! But their menu is filled with much more than burgers — they have incredible dishes like their spicy tuna tartare, shrimp scampi risotto, baked stuff brie, and so much more. It's one of my favorite North of Boston spots.
When I visited with a friend last weekend, we started with their seasonal Cranberry Cobbler cocktail.

Then, some oysters, which The Blue Ox sources from Island Creek. A perfect way to start our dinner.
Then, a delicious warm salad with parsnips and a taste of their Signature Ox Chicken Wings, which are Ryan & Wood oak smoked with a cajun rub and topped with honey hot sauce and blue cheese tarragon dressing.

Then a delicious dish of cod with one of my absolute favorite things, beet risotto! It was a truly beautiful dish.

As if it couldn't get any better, a dish of scallops with lentils, and a lovely fall dish — a taste of their pork chop with sweet potato, crispy cauliflower and Brussels sprouts with an apple cider BBQ sauce.

The last thing we tried, and another one of my favorites, was the meatball! A veal, pork and beef meatball with creamy polenta, olive tapenade, and Parmigiano.
For dessert, an incredible and perfect-for-fall Sticky Toffee Pudding!

The Blue Ox is located at 191 Oxford Street in Lynn and open Tuesdays - Sundays for dinner. I always tell friends that it's certainly worth the drive from the city! Check out their full dinner menu here.
