I had an awesome time this weekend heading back to The Palm Restaurant in Boston. I loved their festive decorations and the specials that they were featuring in honor of their 90th anniversary.
When I visited again I had the chance to learn a little bit more about the Palm’s history. Most of us probably know the Palm for their incredible steaks, but the Palm was initially established as a restaurant serving exclusively Italian food and didn’t even have steaks on the menu. Apparently, during the early years of the restaurant, a few customers had begun asking for steaks, and the owner would run to a nearby butcher shop to get one. People loved them so much and kept asking for them, so eventually, they decided to add steaks to the menu. I loved that story!
When I visited last week, we started our dinner with some oysters and an incredibly delicious and beautiful ahi tuna tartar, which is complete with mascarpone and avocado.

We paired these appetizers with some great cocktails, the Blackberry Bramble, the Cucumber Basil Gimlet, and a super delicious cocktail recommended to me by our waitress called the Mile High’s ‘Hanging Chad.’ It was beautiful and incredibly tasty — made with Grey Goose La Poire, Elderflower Liqueur, pomegranate puree, and lemon and lime juice. I loved it.

Then, for our entrees, a steak of course. I got the 9 ounce Filet Mignon topped with Lobster Truffle Butter. It was perfect.

We also tried the Chilean Sea Bass, and paired our entrees with three sides: the asparagus, the potatoes au gratin, and the lobster mac ‘n’ cheese.

Then, dessert! I have been obsessed with the Palm's 7-layer cakes (pictured below) since I've tried them, but I wanted to try something new this time.

The warm doughnuts and the Crème Brulée that we tried this time were just as delicious. I loved that our waitress brought the warm doughnuts over in a bag and shook them to cover them with cinnamon and sugar and then plated them with a side of chocolate and raspberry sauce. They were perfect.
