Last weekend I finally had a chance to dine at Sonsie on Newbury Street in Boston, a place I’ve been hearing great things about for years but just never happened to stop in. Now I know what I was missing — I loved their delicious menu items, cocktails, and desserts, as well as their beautiful, festive interior for the holidays.
We started our dinner with some of their Wild Mushroom Tacos, complete with red mole, Oaxaca cheese, and sesame seeds. I loved these! And they were made even more delicious paired with some of Sonsie's delicious cocktails, their TCB Mule and the Hemingway.

Then, some delicious grilled octopus and a delicious brick oven pizza of butternut squash, mozzarella, brie, and smoked bacon. It was an incredible combination — I had to stop myself from eating the whole thing to save room for our entrees!

For our entrees, pan roast salmon, butter based halibut, and Sonsie’s prime steak frites. The salmon was paired with fingerling potatoes, green chard, beets, and beet ketchup.

The halibut was completed with preserved lemons, capers, cauliflower puree, and parsley. It was incredibly delicious!

Then, my favorite the Steak frites (with the most amazing crispy fries!), complete with upland cress and herb cultured butter. Impeccable.
As if it couldn’t get any better, we ended our meal with some incredible desserts. First, a great flourless chocolate cake with chocolate cremeux and dried cherry compote.

Then, a perfect, light lemon panna cotta with roasted strawberries and balsamic syrup.
Lemon Panna Cotta
Lastly, and my favorite, the chocolate bread pudding, paired with soft whipped cream and topped chocolate sauce.
