One of my favorite things to do to celebrate a special occasion is to have afternoon tea at the Courtyard Restaurant at the Boston Public Library. I had first gone last spring to celebrate graduation with a few friends, and I just returned last week to check out their Winter Tea, where the restaurant features festive holiday treats. Tea at Courtyard Restaurant at the Boston Public Library is also one of the more affordable tea services in the city at $39 per person.
I also love the elegant setting of the restaurant and how it overlooks the Boston Public Library's beautiful Courtyard.
I was really impressed with the three-tiered spread we were presented with.
On the first tier, an array of savory tea sandwiches including a lobster salad with crème fraîche, smoked salmon, deviled chicken, and english cucumber.
On the second tier, an array of holiday sweets — candy cane and peppermint bark, mini lemon bundt cakes, gingerbread men, and snowflake sugar cookies.
On top, some scones with preserves and Devonshire cream.
Check out Tea at the Courtyard Restaurant at the Boston Public Library Monday through Saturday from 11:30am to 3:30pm. Make reservations on their website here.
