I had an incredible dinner this weekend at Brassica in Jamaica Plain — probably one of my favorite dinners I've had in a really long time. I was so impressed with everything we ate, and I loved the small and charming rustic space as well as the warm and friendly staff.
We started with some cocktails — the Goldrush and the Dorelia. The Goldrush is a drink of bourbon, yerba mate honey, lemon, and orange bitters. The Dorelia, which I loved, was a drink of gin, rose, st germain, dry curaçao, and grapefruit.
Then, some wagyu beef sticks, beets, and my favorite, the Miso Buttered Brussels. They were so tasty and as you might know from how many pictures of Brussels sprouts I post — they are my favorite vegetable and one of my overall favorite things to eat.

Then, an incredible dish, Maine Scallops over Eggplant Caponata. This was my friend’s favorite of the night. For seafood dishes, we also tried the clams and spaghetti with fermented black beans.

I also loved the Penne Bolognese, the Miso omelette, and the Quail, but I think my favorite of the night was the Wagyu Bourguignon with carrot pappardelle pasta in a bone marrow reduction. It was seriously one of the best dishes I’ve ever had — I loved it.

Then, dessert! A delicious pumpkin creme brûlée, a croissant with a chocolate spread, and a caramel bombe.
What a great dinner! I'll definitely be heading back here soon.
