I had an amazing time this weekend checking out PAGU, a recently opened Japanese-Spanish fusion restaurant in Central Square in Cambridge. I was so impressed by the creativity of the menu, and everything I tried was absolutely delicious — I think it’s one of my new favorite spots.
We started our dinner with some great cocktails, some of Pagu’s Cheese Wafflatos, and their Shishito Peppers.
Then, some Maitake Croquetas, and the incredibly delicious and beautiful Squid Ink Oyster Bao, which were filled with pickled cucumbers, fried shallots, and peanuts.
We also tried and loved a special scallop dish they were serving that evening as well as their Pan con Tomate & Jamón. The scallops may have been my favorite of the night, or at least tied with the Squid Ink Oyster Bao!
Finally, some delicious Roasted Mushroom Mazemen.
For dessert, Milk and Cookies — some incredible matcha cookies with almonds and dark chocolate, paired with a small cup of milk.
Also, we tried and loved the Black Sesame Tofu dessert, which was made with hojicha syrup, tofu foam, and a sesame tile.
What an incredible dinner! Check out PAGU at 310 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge. They’re open for dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm to 11pm.
