I had a great time last weekend heading back to one of my favorite spots, Saltie Girl, in the Back Bay! This was my first time checking out their brunch, and it was excellent.
We started with some cocktails — the Rhubarb and the Earl Grey Boba Cocktail.
Then, some of Saltie Girl’s tinned fish. We went with the mussels soaked in olive oil.
Also, we tried and loved their snow crab toast, which came topped with avocado, pistachios, and stracciatella. I was so impressed — it was so delicious and a true work of art.
For our mains, some fish tacos, which were one of their daily specials, and their James Beard Sirloin Mushroom Burger. It was made with swiss cheese, portabello mushroom, pork belly, foie bordelaise, and foie gras, and paired with truffle fries. It was incredibly delicious and decadent!
The burger is part of the James Beard Blended Burger project, which is a project that encourages restaurants to blend their ground meat with mushrooms to create a burger that’s both healthier and more delicious.
Restaurants from around the country are participating in a contest to see who can make the best burger, and you can vote for Saltie Girl here. Customers who vote are also entered to win a trip for two to the Blended Burger event at the James Beard House in 2018. It’s a pretty sweet deal! You can vote for Saltie Girl here.
Anyway, more on the James Beard Blended Burger Project here, and check out Saltie Girl’s full menu here. They’re located at 281 Dartmouth Street in Boston.
