I had an awesome dinner this week at the recently opened Smoke Shop BBQ in the Seaport!
We started out with some drinks — the What in Carnation and the Blood from a Stone. Both were delicious, and I especially loved the Blood from a Stone, made with bourbon, raisin syrup, lemon, and sweet vermouth.
Then, for starters, a few things — BBQ Fries topped with pulled pork, their Best Bar Wings, and some corn bread.
For entrees, we tried a bunch of different things. I went with the "Pit Boss," where you can choose three different meats and three sides — I went with the ribs, brisket, and wings for meat, and the Brussels sprouts, coleslaw, and corn bread for sides. It was heavenly.
My friend went with the fried chicken basket, and the sweet potato mash and pimento Mac & cheese for her sides.
We also tried the delicious Hot Catfish Sandwich, and the Tofu basket. I have to say the tofu was incredibly delicious. It’s chicharron style fried tofu paired with a seasonal vegetable salad with citrus and herbs and their red state sweet and sour sauce. I’m so happy they’re offering this — you don’t have to make your vegetarian friends feel bad about joining you for BBQ.
For dessert, the butter cake, and were were lucky to get some of the corner pieces. Yum!
The Smoke Shop BBQ Seaport is located at 343 Congress Street in Boston. They also have another location at 1 Kendall Square in Cambridge. Check out their full Seaport menu here.
