I was so excited to check out PURO Ceviche Bar last week. It’s an awesome spot serving up great ceviches, tacos, and Latin American inspired small plates. It’s a sister restaurant to Kava neo-taverna, a wonderful greek restaurant in the South End. And like Kava, PURO is a beautiful, quaint spot with incredibly fresh and flavorful food!
When I visited PURO last week with my friend, we started with some wine and a perfect Pisco Sour. For food, we began with some ceviche and the De Palmitos salad, made with of palm hearts, corn, tomato, avocado, red onion, parsley, scallions, olive oil, and lemon juice — it was so light and fresh.
For ceviches, I loved their Striped Bass ceviche, beautifully plated with bell peppers, red onion, chili peppers, cilantro, passion fruit, aji amarillo, and lime juice.
Then, the Pisco Manchego con Huevo, a delicious dish of eggplant, zucchini, summer squash, bell peppers, tomato, quail eggs, and manchego cheese.
We finished up with some chicken tacos and a delicious burger.
For dessert, a beautiful little tres leches cake.
Check out PURO’s full menu here. They are located at 264 Newbury Street in Boston.
