I loved checking out the recently opened Zambrero in Harvard Square this weekend! For those who haven’t heard of Zambero, it’s an awesome, mission-driven, fast casual spot with super fresh Mexican food — delicious burritos, tacos, quesadillas, nachos, and more.
Zambrero opened up in Australia in 2005, and just recently expanded to the U.S. This location in Harvard Square, along with another in Warwick, Rhode Island are their first U.S. outposts!
One of the most unique things about Zambrero is is their Plate 4 Plate Initiative. They partner with an organization, Rise Against Hunger, to donate a meal to someone in need for every burrito or bowl that they sell. Since they opened in Australia in 2005, Zambrero has donated more than 21 million meals! They have a really cool live count feature at their restaurant in Harvard Square.
I loved getting a taste of some of their menu items including a burrito, bowl, nachos, and their hard shell tacos. Everything was super fresh, and it feels good to be supporting their Plate 4 Plate initiative when you eat there.
The Harvard Square spot is located at 71 Mount Auburn Street. Funny enough, it’s right across the street from my old college dorm! I would have definitely been a regular had they been open a few years ago — I’m so jealous of all the current Harvard students that have this spot right in their back yard.
