I had such a great dinner last weekend at Post 390, an awesome restaurant in the Back Bay. Their focus is fresh ingredients and seasonal flavors and their menu features lots of delicious items including cheese and charcuterie plates, great seafood, burgers, steaks, and so much more.
When I visited with my friend last weekend we started with some cocktails and a cheese plate. To me there’s nothing better on a Friday after work! And it was made even better sitting up in Post 390’s dining room with a great view of the Back Bay.
Then, the Wild Tuna Poké and a Cavendish Quail Ballotine, a dish complete with sherry-glazed wild chanterelles, roasted chestnut farce, and pomme purée. It was delicious — and almost too beautiful to eat!
For our entrees, I went with the Snappy Lobster and Dumplings, a beautiful dish of lobster, three different types of gnocchi (lemon peel gnocchi, beet-stained potato gnocchi, and fine herbes gnocchi), baby carrots, butter, and broth. It doesn’t get much better than that — especially when lobster and gnocchi are two of your favorite things.
My friend went with The Full Parcel Burger, which was complete with bacon, sharp Vermont cheddar cheese, iceberg lettuce, sliced tomato, red onion, ketchup, mayo, Dijon mustard, and pickles.
For dessert, Post 390’s “Bear Claw” Doughnut which was a almond filled doughnut topped with butter almonds and a Vietnamese coffee ice cream. The perfect way to end a delicious dinner!
Check out Post 390’s full menu here. They’re located at 406 Stuart Street in Boston.
