I had so much fun this weekend checking out The Big E in West Springfield. I’m sure most of you are familiar with it, but if you’re not — it’s a huge festival with music, shopping, games, rides, tons of food, and so much more. This was my first time visiting The Big E, and I couldn’t get over how big it was, and how many vendors there were! The festival opened for the season on September 14th, and will run through September 30th.
I visited with my friend on opening day, and we got lucky with the weather! It was cloudy when we arrived, but it cleared up quickly and the weather was beautiful! We started by walking around and scoping out all of the awesome food vendors at The Big E. It’s been a while since I had indulgent fair food, so it really hit the spot.
Some of the great bites we tried included:
Taco Fried Dough from Anna’s Fried Dough
Taco Chompers from Chompers
Stuffed Pepper from Deluca’s Family Foods
Grilled Cheese Mac & Cheese from Granville Country Store
A Cookie Cone from Stella’s Milk & Cookies
Pretzels from The Wurst Haus
And of course, we couldn’t leave without trying the Big E Bakery cream puffs and eclairs — and of course, we took a few home for later too.
It was quite the spread of food!
Then, after we let our stomachs rest for a while, we checked out some games and rides.
Check out The Big E in West Springfield from now through September 30th. It’s the perfect fall activity whether you’re visiting with friends or kids. If you're driving you can use the address: 1305 Memorial Ave, West Springfield, MA for your GPS.
